Movies Opening June 29th

A small opening weekend coming up, mostly because of the July 4th holiday; a big opening day in the world of summer movies. The big movies of the weekend are Sicko and Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille. Also opening is Martian Child, Vitus and You Kill Me. Movies that opened Wednesday was Ghost of Cite Soliel and Die Hard 4 aka Live Free or Die Hard. What is with all these older movies coming out back out. Arent they all getting to old for the action movies?

Movies Opening June 22

As this is a hobby, real life sometimes takes precedence over it. So now I am going to try to catch you up with the latest movie releases of the past two weeks.

Here is what opened June 22nd:

The two biggest opening of last weekend was Evan Almighty and A Mighty Heart. Neither impressed box office watchers. I posted the trailer to A Mighty Heart a few weeks ago.

1408
Black Sheep
Broken English.
D.O.A.: Dead or Alive
Lady Chatterley

What to watch this weekend

Movies that are out in theatres this weekend: You know the usually jist, trailers and stuff. I call this a slum weekend, because there is only really one major movie opening. Smart actually. Ok maybe two major movies.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Nancy Drew

Here are some other limited releases. Not everyone is into The Fanstastic Four. I don't blame you.

Blood and Tears
DOA: Dead or Alive
Fido
Macbeth
No One
The Trials of Darryl Hunt
USA: Inside the War on Abortion

And for those of you who love the really limited releases, you have to live in NY to see Strike and NY or L.A. to see Eagle vs. Shark. Bummer.

What's at the Movies Today

Watch the trailers for the big releases of the weekend. Will Captain Jack prevail for a third week at the box-office? I was suprised that with all the talk about Knocked Up, it did not become the number movie last week.

Ocean's 13

Hostel 2

Surf's Up

Movies Opening Today

Place to be last night. At a movie theater near you @ 8 p.m. That is when the general public had the chance to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Disney publicized their decision to not wait for the midnight showing and show it a few hours earlier. The other movie studios are smart, because this long holiday weekend, POTC is the only major film released today. ( I give this film a A++) Some people are over the Pirates, so there are other smaller movies that are now in theaters. I recommend Amu. Previews are below. :)

Amu

Angel-A

Bug

Golden Door
